The Plantation Garden Preservation Trust
The Plantation Garden Preservation Trust (PGPT) is a registered
charity (no. 801095) and was formed in 1980.
Our patron is Sir Roy Strong, former director of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The Trust administers this Grade II English Heritage registered garden (actually owned by The Preachers' Money Charity, a 17th Century endowment) and is in constant need of contributions to enable its continued restoration.
The garden is almost entirely run by volunteers.
The volunteers have worked many thousands of unpaid hours, not only on gardening projects but fund raising to pay for the skilled services and items that it is necessary to buy. A large amount of money has been spent on restoration and improvement since 1980.
The committee meet regularly and all offers of help, financial or volunteer, are gratefully received.
Our sole sources of income are annual subscriptions, entrance fees and donations.
The Plantation Garden Preservation Trust (PGPT) is entirely independent of the Beeches Hotel although the properties are adjacent to one another.
